Yesterday you probably did a million and one things, but ask yourself, how many of those things did you do to the best of your abilities? When things get hectic, it’s easy to do the bare minimum just to get by… but who is that really helping? At the end of the day, you’re cheating yourself out of achieving greatness just by taking the easy way out. The short-cut isn’t always the best route. Whatever you do today, make it mean something. Make it count by putting your all in. Don’t just finish, be the champion! You can do it.
In the video below, Eric Thomas speaks to students at Urban Prep Academy in Chicago about making it count. Watch and have a great day:
If you know anything about me, you know I like Diggy Simmons…a LOT! (Note: please don’t call Chris Hansen on me, I just think he is the CUTEST thing ever!)
He’s been preparing for the release of his debut album via Atlantic Records for the better part of this year, and this is the latest single to come from that project. The track features Jeremih, and was produced by Pop Wansel. He’s definitely talking to the young ladies on this track, and keeping it clean, as he recently promised. Take a listen below.
The single will be available for download via iTunes on October 24th.

With a huge midterm election just 6 days away…The Obama administration and the Democratic party are trying to recreate the energy that was so important in Election 2008…and we all know that star power can bring out the masses, especially the youth vote.
Last night, the Democratic party announced a weekend rally for Illinois candidates that would feature an appearance by President Obama and a performance by Chicago’s own Common. In 2008, Common was one of the many artists and celebrities who played their part and campaigned for the election of President Obama.
With the speculation of Jay-Z being on the 2012 Campaign trail, and Common’s constant support…it’s evident that President Obama’s team understands the power that hip-hop plays in society. If you’re in the Chicago area, the rally will take place Saturday, at Midway Plaisance park. Entry is free, and gates open at 4:30pm.
This election is just as important (if not more) than the election that took place two years ago. If you’re registered, do your part and let your voice be heard on November 2nd.

As I was checking my email today I was distracted by this story about a kid named Jaylin on the Yahoo home page. He’s ten years old, and is regarded as one of the best basketball players in the US for his age group. His ball handling skills are crazy, but what stands out most is his level-headed maturity, making him seem wise beyond his years. I would probably attribute this to his parents and his foundation in the Word. Its always inspiring to see young people who are skilled, but aware that their gifts, are just that.
