Here’s brand new music from rising Chicago rapper Rello, whom we’ve previously featured in our New Artist Spotlight. The Dreamers EP features an appearance from Gemstones, and an all around positive message that is so truly necessary. Rello also released a video to accompany “Make It” a dedication to all young mothers, which can be heard on the EP. Watch the video, and find a download link below. Continue reading
It’s Valentine’s Day, so you know there will be an onslaught of music that will specifically cater to those celebrating this day of love! Here’s a new track from Sammie, who’s busy putting the finishing touches on his next album Coming Of Age.
The song is called Heart Has A Mind Of It’s Own, and it’s a real love song! I think you ladies will love it. Check it out!
I believe that every child is an artist. Somewhere along the way however, influences in our lives either nurtured our gifts, or tried to squelch them. The child-like creativity we all once had is the driving force behind some of the greatest inventions in the world. Daring to think outside the box. Daring to be what others might see as “weird.” Daring to make the difficult choice to take a gift, and share it with the world. All of these choices made regular people heroes. Each of us have the power to do the same. Sharing your gift could cause a wave of change in the world, but you’ll never know unless you try it. Be Infectious.
Watch the short film below, and have a great weekend.
If you haven’t seen the movie Drive with Ryan Gosling and Carrie Mulligan, I suggest you stop whatever you’re doing (after you’re done reading this of course) and go see it ASAP! It is an amazing movie- a bit graffic and violent, but worth the watch.
Musically speaking the soundtrack to the film, simply put is … perfection. Immediately after watching the film, I went online to find the soundtrack. One song in particaular I wanted to share with you guys is Nightcall by Kavinsky. The French artist is an electro-house genious with three EP’s under his belt. Check him out below, enjoy!
Remember when you were younger and you thought that you never wanted to grow up? You were too busy having fun with friends, had no responsibility whatsoever, and just enjoyed being a kid? That worked for a period in time, but if it’s been more than a decade since your age was a single digit, you shouldn’t have this mindset. Growing up is a part of life, and you should welcome it! Maturity allows you the opportunity to experience all that life has to offer… don’t limit yourself by staying stagnant! Watch the video below, and have a great day!
It doesn’t matter where you come from. Your humble beginnings can be the launch pad for something greater than you can ever imagine. Just ask the guy in the video below.
Pharrell Williams is one of the most revered creative minds in the world of entertainment, fashion, and lifestyle design. He’s made millions of dollars producing and performing music, designing clothing, and working behind the scenes to make sure some of the biggest brands in the world stay at the cusp of what is “in.” He is the consummate purveyor of cool. Sammie is gearing up for the release of a brand new album… but dropped this cover of Rick Ross & Nicki Minaj‘s “You Da Boss” for his fans. I’ve always liked Sammie’s voice, and I’m hoping that his new project really puts him back in the spotlight. He’s been working with a lot of great people, including, most notably, Troy Taylor, the man behind much of Trey Songz‘s success. Check out the track below:
Just the other day I was asking aimlessly for another Santigold album. And just like that, BOOM. She drops the video for her brand new single “Big Mouth”. Her unique style is something that I feel the game is missing right now. On this track, she combines electronic/house sensibilities with a driving Afro-beat…and the results are amazing. But don’t take my word for it… watch it for yourself below.
Santigold’s new album Master Of My Make-Believe is coming soon. For now, you can download “Big Mouth” for free by clicking here.
Allow me to introduce JMSN (pronounced Jameson) to those of you may be unfamiliar. I got exposed to this new artist via DJ Lissa Monet (thanks ma’am) and have been enjoying my journey through his recently released project †Priscilla†. “Something” is a song about facing the issues that we often try to run from; the things that each of us try to fight (or stifle) on a daily basis. We fill voids with things that aren’t doing anything but soothing the symptoms without curing the sickness. Even the best of us have problems that we have to resolve before truly achieving our highest greatness. This video tells the story of the cycle we go through to get there. You can watch below, but be forewarned. This video is a trip. If you’re not ready to really think outside the box, don’t even worry about playing it. You’ll be upset if you do: Continue reading
