While doing a little trend spotting, I noticed a slight uptick in brands putting their own spin on the disguised wedge sneakers that French designer Isabel Marant spearheaded. One of Marant’s styles, the black suede “Bekket” has been sold out since Beyonce wore them in her “Love On Top” video last year. Of course, they’ve been in high demand with actresses, models, and socialites looking for a feminine twist to the casual sneaker look. They are a bit pricey though, and for that reason, there’s a gap in the marketplace for more affordable replicas. If you don’t mind the swag rip, there are a few brands that might be worth your time. One of them is Nike:

I spotted this sneak preview (they aren’t scheduled to be released until sometime in the fall,) over at Highsnobette along with these two alternatives:

Serafini’s “Manhattan” collection, and Elena Iachi respectively.
