Jay-Z performed the first of two historic shows at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall last night (2/6) in front of a packed house. Backed by Questlove and his full orchestra The Illadelphonics, Mr. Carter ran through a set list that included tracks like Izzo, Song Cry, PSA, Run This Town, and Empire State Of Mind, with assists from Alicia Keys and Nas. This show also marked the first time the doting dad performed “Glory” the song he dedicated to his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, with wife Beyonce. Check out the video and a few pictures below:
Jay began the night in an ice-white tuxedo jacket, before switching to his traditional all black attire… and both looks were put together by his longtime stylist June Ambrose.
The proceeds from the shows benefit Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation and The United Way, who are working to assist lower-income New York area students on their quest for higher education.
