This just in- On Monday night the news came quick, fast and in a hurry that X-Factor host Steve Jones would not be returning for the second season of the talent search show on FOX. Along with this necessary decision, it was also announced that judges Paula Abdul (who was seen as “irrelevant to the mix”,  by no fault of her own. Mostly because her group men-tees were eliminated from the competition relatively early) and Nicole Scherzinger would be joining Mr. Jones “out on the curb”.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first break the story that these major decisions were made during one key confab that was held in the U.K., Monday night.  According to a THR source, show creator Simon Cowell summoned his executive producers and “creative brain-trust for a post mortem.” The primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss what went wrong and right in the first season of the new competition.
