New year, new moves is the motto, right? Well such is the case for two very talented young artists.

X-Factor USA‘s first winner Melanie Amaro inked her recording contract with Epic Records under the helm of Chairman L.A. Reid. Seeing that Reid has been a driving force behind some of the biggest names in entertainment (Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Usher and more) this could be a great starting point to launch Melanie into international superstardom. As an added bonus, the Pepsi commercial that was a part of her prize package will be airing very soon.

Congrats are also in order for talented singer/songwriter Ester Dean. After penning major hits like Beyonce‘s “Countdown” Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Bass”, Katy Perry‘s “Fireworks” and Rihanna‘s “What’s My Name, she shared via Twitter that she’d signed a deal with Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation Management. She joins a roster that includes artists like Rihanna, Wale, and Melanie Fiona. You may also remember Ester’s hit song “Drop It Low” with Chris Brown which peaked at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2009. 2012 will bring us her debut album, and an appearance on the silver screen in the film Pitch Perfect. Clap for ’em!
