Don’t let the title fool you. On Common‘s new track “Sweet” is definitely not. The song is even a bit controversial, because it’s such a departure from the conscious Common that we’ve become accustomed to in the last few years. Whatever. I like it, it’s hard core hip-hop.
The video, shot on the streets of Haiti, serves as a fundraiser for the poverty stricken country. Fans were offered the opportunity to donate a dollar to the cause to stream the video live with Common, and donations are still being taken. If you’d like to donate, you can do so by clicking here.
