Denzel Washington is a man we all know as a legend in the film industry. He’s your mom’s favorite crush and your dad’s best friend.
“That’s my boyfriend” or “That’s My Boy.”
Out of his long list of box office hits there have been a number of films that always tend to stick out in my mind. Number one on my list is the action/thriller Training Day, where we find the infamous line “King Kong Ain’t Got S#*% On Me!” Then there is Man on Fire and the 2010 action packed post–apocalyptic “Bible” toting pilgrimage, The Book of Eli.
In his latest project, Denzel has taken his BAD Cop, body-guarding, gun/Bible slinging persona and entered the world of espionage. This film entitled Safe House stars Denzel and “funny man” turned action star Ryan Reynolds.
And the story goes a little something like this:
Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) a former CIA who went rouge, comes back onto the grid after ten years on the run. After turning himself in he is shipped to a South African CIA Safe House. While remanded, the safe house is attacked by mercenaries. But Frost escapes with the help of a rookie operative, Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds). Now, the unlikely allies must stay alive long enough to uncover who wants them dead.
The movie is scheduled to hit theatres February 10, 2012. I am expecting this to be another one added to Denzel’s Long list of overly successful films
