Although an earthquake and a hurricane delayed the festivities, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication celebration went on today as scheduled on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

There were remarks and performances from many, including Dr. King’s sister and two of his children, as well as Mary Mary & Sheryl Crow to name a few. The keynote speech was given by President Barack Obama, who’s words struck a cord with all those in attendance, and those who watched from around the world. His remarks encouraged people to take Dr. King’s legacy as an example, and to continue to pursue the ideals that he spoke in his now famous speech “I Have A Dream.”
