In not so shocking news, TMZ is reporting that members of the production staff at VH1 have shared that Meeka Claxton will NOT be invited to return to their hit series Basketball
Associates Wives (Miami) when new episodes begin taping.
If you had a chance to watch the show this past season, I’m sure you noticed that Meeka was the black sheep of the crew. It just wasn’t a good fit for her. This, of course, resulted in arguments, physical altercations with other cast members, and subsequent lawsuits. In addition to being on Basketball Wives, Meeka is also the co-owner of a luxury relocation service that assists athletes and other “ballers” with real-estate acquisitions and other concierge services. I think she’ll be fine without the show.
The saddest part, however, is that she was the only cast member currently MARRIED to a basketball player, and the only current wife on the program. I wouldn’t be sad if it got cancelled, but it doesn’t look like that will happen anytime soon. The last season earned record ratings, and has even branched off with a new series in LA. No word yet when the new season will kick off, or who they’ll sign up as a replacement.
