Well, he did it. Drake entered the Billboard charts at Number 1 this week, selling 447K copies of his debut full-length album “Thank Me Later”. He also has a whopping 13 songs on the Hot Digital Singles chart, 11 of which are from the album.
With this success there is already buzz about another Grammy nomination, this time in the “Best New Artist” category…if he were to win it he’d be the first hip-hop artist to do so since Arrested Development in 1993.
Last night MTV premiered “Better Than Good Enough” a documentary about Drake’s seemingly overnight rise from relative musical obscurity to being a household name. You can watch a deleted scene where we see Drake creating one of my favorite songs from the album, (Fireworks, featuring Alicia Keys) below.
